The SPRING FRESH Ultrafiltration filter consists of a combination of many hydrophilic (water loving) hollow fibre capillary filters which are capable of filtering down to 0.12 microns and therefore meet the acceptable criteria for producing bacteria free water. It allows for removal of >99.9999000 (9 log) of all particles and organisms like bacteria, spores, fungi, algae greater than 0.12 microns which providing high volumes of treated water at low pressures. |

The hydrophilic (water loving) hollow fibre capililliary membranes have a high porosity enabling high flow rates at low pressures. The capilliary wall consists of a highly porous asymetrical structure in which water follows the path from large pores to small pores, thus providing a large dirt handling capacity, high flow rates and the benefit of optimal backwashing for longer filter life. |

How safe is your water ?
- Filtered Water
Most water filters up to 1 micron and that is not enough to protect you from bacteria and viruses as they are much smaller in size.
- Water Purifiers
Most water purifiers are based on Ultra-Violet Sterilisation whereby the bacteria and viruses are temporarily stunned with Ultra-Violent Radiation. The Ultra-Violet light at 253.7 nm wave length penetrates through the cell wall and cytoplasmic membrames of micro-organisms like bacteria and viruses, and causes a molecular re-arrangement of the micro-organism's DNA which in turn prevents it from reproducing. However, given ideal conditions the micro-organism can restructure its DNA.
- Reverse Osmosis Systems
Altough R.O.membranes do not permit bacteria and viruses to pass through the membrane, these deposit as bio-film on the surface of the membrane and can grow through the membrane thus contaminating the water. Further some RO Systems have open water storage systems in which water can be contaminated by micro-organisms by exposure to air and sunlight.
- Ultrafiltration System
The Ultra-filtration filter physically removes the micro-organism from the water stream and hence the water obtained is not only clear but is also 100% safe.

Uses: |

 |
1.Stand Alone Filter
Hollow Fibre micro fillteration used in conjunction with activated carbon removes taste & odour, harmful contaminants and provides effective mircobiological protection to deliver clean, safe and tasty drinking water. Can also be used under the sink for providing water in the bathroom for rinsing mouth or in the kitchen for bacteria free water. |

2.To upgrade to your exisiting Water Purifier
As your exisitng water purifier does not physically remove bacteria but only changes its DNA (which can be regenerated by the micro-organism), the Ultra-filter can be used to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. |

3.To upgrade your R.O.System
Although Bacteria and viruses canot pass through the RO membrane, they get deposited in the bio-film on the membrane and can grow through the membrane thus contaminating the water passing through the membrane. Pre-filtration with Ultra-filter will prevent bacteria and ico-organisms from entering the membrane thus producing 100% safe and healthy drinking water. Further, a 0.12 micron pre-filteration will improve the performance and life of the RO membrane. |
